At Cord of 3, we believe that children often express what they cannot yet put into words. Play is a child’s natural language, and through it, they are able to communicate their thoughts, emotions, fears, and experiences in a safe and meaningful way. Play Therapy can also be a tool to help adults explore adverse childhood experiences in a non-threatening way.
Our Play Therapy Program is designed to meet children and adults where they are, providing a structured and nurturing environment where healing can take place through intentional, therapeutic play.
Your counselor has recommended Play Therapy because it is the most effective and developmentally appropriate approach for your current needs. Children process experiences differently than adults, and traditional talk therapy is often not sufficient for helping them work through deeper emotional or behavioral challenges. Many teens and adults have also expressed success in processing difficult life experiences through various playful or artistic methods.
This recommendation reflects our commitment to providing our clients with the best possible care, that is tailored specifially to how they communicate and heal.
Play Therapy is not simply “playing.” It is a highly specialized form of counseling that requires advanced training and intentional structure.
In this program, clients will:

“Let the little children come to Me… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
Being a Christian, who was called into the counseling field, I realized early on that a person’s spiritual growth is the most important piece of recovery and healing through therapy. After several years of working in the field, I felt a need to be able to address this component freely, which I could not do in the secular field. I work with females and children covering topics such as trauma, grief, adoption/foster concerns, behavioral issues and emotional wellness. I see clients in Baxley, Douglas, and via google meet.
We are a homeschooling family of four who enjoy gardening, spending time with wonderful friends, playing games at home, or finding a good hiking trail.
My favorite Bible verse is Lamentations 3:21-24
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.”
I serve in the Equine Specialty Program in partnership with Hooves to Freedom, where I work with children ages 7-12 navigating anxiety, grief, and trauma. I also support teen girls and women facing anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. You can find me both at the main office in Blackshear and at the Hooves to Freedom facility in Blackshear.
I have two horses: Solomon, a red roan American Quarter Horse gelding, and Zara, a bay Mustang mare from Devil’s Garden, California. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my horses through training and trail riding, as well as traveling, staying active, reading, and paddle boarding.
My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 34:3-5
“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were radiant: And their faces were not ashamed.
Here at Cord of 3, I work with children, teens and women in the Blackshear and Douglas offices and via Google meet. I’ve had training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, sand tray, and Play God’s Way and enjoy using this with my clients.
I’ve been married for almost three years to my husband, Austin. We serve at church, as youth pastor and worship leader. I enjoy reading and playing music. I love quality time with my friends and family, even if its just playing a game or going out to eat.
My favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersover thou goest.”
As a Christian and a counselor, I see the importance of addressing the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of a client. I believe that God has led me to this profession. I work with adult women and children/teens that struggle in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. I view it as a ministry and I thank God for allowing me the opportunity to serve as a mental health provider.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Training Center Coordinator, and Director of Play God’s Way, a Christ-centered Play Therapy Model that integrates faith into play therapy interventions. I also teach part-time for Cairn University and Walden University.

I love spending time with my family, which almost always includes playing games. I also have the most amazing church family that I enjoy being around every chance I get. I don’t travel as often as I would like, but it is something I have developed a passion for. Experiencing new things and taking in new sights will never get old. I do love being surrounded by people, but when I feel the need for a moment to myself, I enjoy things like watching a movie, doing a puzzle, or reading a book.
My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Behavioral issues at home or in school often have an underlying cause, such as trauma, depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions. The experienced staff at Cord of 3 meets each child with love, builds trust, and applies effective treatment that approaches the root cause of the behavior.
Every person will at some point have at least one potentially traumatic experience, but this doesn’t impact everyone in the same ways. When struggling to process and move on from negative life experiences, therapy offers a powerful method of finding support and healing.
Individual counseling can help overcome the sometimes overwhelming fear and hopelessness by helping you better understand the conditions that led to the emotional brokenness you are experiencing, and applying healthy coping skills against them.
