Let Us Help You Heal!
During this #MatchingGift2021, we are committed to supporting those adversely affected by COVID-19 in our own communities by providing grief counseling, discipleship, life coaching, financial mentoring, and other services as a ministry of healing. 50% of all funds raised will be set aside for this purpose. We ask that you help us Cultivate Christian Community by being a part of this matching gift campaign.
COVID-19 has forever changed our normal way of life. While we have much to be thankful for – God’s daily provision and protection – we know that this virus has created a lasting impact on the lives of many around us. Our own family, friends, and loved ones have experienced firsthand the impact of this virus – sickness, death, grief, job loss, home displacement, food insecurities, and other negative outcomes. Here are two of those stories:
Overcome with grief. A bitter battle against COVID-19 infection began just before Christmas for our family. Christmas at our home is usually a time of great fun, time with family, and the making of new memories. However, Christmas of 2020 is marked by the beginning of a fight for my husband’s life. It all began with the usual symptoms that are present with COVID-19, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. My husband’s battle wasn’t just against the virus but also against the negative impact it made on other areas of his body. Overall my husband was in the hospital for more than two months during which time we prayed fervently and sought after God’s deliverance and healing. With grief, we announce that God took him home and while we know that he is in perfect peace with God, we remain and are struggling with the grief that comes with the absence of this great husband, father, grandfather. COVID has forever changed my life.
Displaced from our home. When the country began to shut down because of COVID-19 my husband was one of the first ones to be laid off from work. While he did begin to receive unemployment benefits, we were hopeful that this would be a temporary delay in work, which was not the case. Over a year later, he is still unemployed, actively seeking for work and our lives are forever changed due to COVID-19. Every month, we were hopeful for the news that he would be returning to work. Each month, we got the same disappointing news . . . no! Going into the summer of 2020 we realized there needed to be some major changes and by Christmas of 2020 we were forced to move from our home in Colorado back to Georgia where our extended family is. We left our daughter at the University of Colorado, moved our other two children to a new town, new school, and away from their friends. It has been a hard move on us all.
Here at Cord of 3 we have been blessed to sit with families whose lives have been negatively changed by COVID-19. Seeing the impact that this virus has had on countless families, marriages, and frontline workers causing issues such as financial insecurities, home displacement, grief, and ongoing medical issues has prompted us to make this year‘s matching gift campaign about helping those who have been adversely affected by COVID-19.
The money raised during this matching gift campaign will go to support the ongoing emotional and spiritual needs of those whose lives have been forever changed due to COVID-19. We ask that you help us Cultivate Christian Community in May and June by giving to our #MatchingGift2021. Every dollar amount given is a great blessing.
